Here you can see my temporary splint I made. I didn't want to go to th hospital that night. The splint is made of duct tape an a pencil, it held very well and I had no pain that night!

This is another home made splint picture, but look at the swelling.

Sunday morning I went to a clinic. Here is a picture of one of the x-rays. I shouldn't have to point out the break as it is pretty obvious. its on the pinky finger, not on the actual pinky, but the metacarple that connects my pinky to my wrist.

The clinic casted a splint with that cool temporary cast stuff that hardens after water is applied, then wrapped.

Today (Monday April 2nd) I went to see an orthopedic doctor. He looked at the break for about 10 seconds on the x-ray, then put together is awesome brace that helps me type and have almost full hand usage!

I will have the brace on for about 6 weeks, I will have x-rays in three weeks to confirm it is healing well!

That is a cool brace.
Sorry about your hand again... but I'm glad the doctor hooked you up!!!
Cool brace. Glad they aren't worse. Glad you can continue your work. We hope it doesn't hurt much. Pain meds?
so i must be pretty dumb..i can't tell where the break is..there are alot of bones in your hand...and none of them really look connected! anyway hope it gets better sooon!
i'm right there with you bec!!!!
Sorry for the break but glad you were able to take good care of it.
Curtis broke his about 2 months ago. The orthopedic gave him the same brace. Curtis said the first cast made it feel better, but the brace gave him more freedom to move.
Did they describe your's as a boxers break?
Take care of yourself and heal quickly.
Patty
hahah good sarah i'm glad!!
That's funny that you girls can't see the break. It is huge!! I guess as you have more kids and they grow...you will become more experienced at looking at xrays!! I hope you don't get that experience...
